Kenny said I need to write on this blog again, so to ALL of my faithful followers, this one is for you!
It's been about a week since my last Crossfit workout due to the craziness of the holidays, but I plan to rededicate myself to this in the coming week.
The Zone is actually going quite well. The hardest part has been eating the fat blocks. This is the only diet I have ever followed that encourages eating fat. This is definitely a diet for anyone who needs to lower blood sugars. I have noticed a decrease in my blood sugars even after lowering my basal rates. That's good!
Until next time! Kelly

Week 1, Day 1
Today is the first day for our family starting the Zone diet. I found this diet through Crossfit and thought it sounded like a great way for a diabetic to gain better blood sugar control and lose some weight. I would like to live to a ripe old age with minimal to no diabetic complications. Kenny (being the elite Crossfitter that he is) is always up for a challenge. Collin also wanted to eat more balanced : p. I wanted to keep a blog of this quest to:
That being said, here is a rundown of my day thus far:
I am eating 3 block meals with 1 block snacks, Kenny is eating 4 block meals with 2-3 block snacks.

I started doing the CrossFit workouts about a week ago. It has got me good and sore, which I like. I haven't been doing it long enough to notice any results yet. Last night's workout included somersaults, which I am apparently TOO old for. I was so dizzy I thought I would PUKE throw groceries. More to come on this subject.

Thoughts and Feelings on Day 1
- This is quite confusing, but I think it will get easier as I go.
- I feel good.
- Today is not a WOD day for me, but Collin and I did walk a mile at the church while Kenny and Phillip played basketball.
- We have been trying to either eat or give away all of our "nonfavorable" carb food this week, so I would say our kitchen is Zone friendly. Let's see how long the $200 worth of groceries we bought today lasts us.
